                       Welcome to the art gallery "ventanas del lago"

Here you can find works of artists from the Tzutujil Maya culture, who perform the following techniques:

 

Bird's eye view: This type of art is more elaborate because it has relief and allows the customer to appreciate the texture with the sense of sight and touch, from another perspective.

 

Women's back: this artistic variable shows the belief of the Mayan culture, which is based on that if a person is taken a photograph of the face, camera steals the soul, also allows us to demonstrate to the client the variety of traditional costumes of Guatemala.

 

Corn: they show the base of the Mayan culture, reflected in the holy book Popol Vuh, in the Mayan cosmovision one has the belief that each color of the corn represents one of the cardinal points, which are:

• Red (East)

• Black (West)

• Yellow (South)

• White (North)

Ant view: these works of art represent humans seen from the perspective that ants have, it is the opposite of the bird's eye view.

Faces: represent people from the Guatemalan Mayan culture, who wear costumes that identify their region.

​

Landscapes: According to the National Geographic page (2015) Lake Atitlán is the most beautiful in the world, for this reason is the number one landscape that you can see within the artworks of the Gallery Ventanas del Lago.

Abstract: In these works the artist proposes a new reality different from the natural perspective , but still, reflecting the Mayan culture.

​

Birds: These works represent nature, in other words,all the flights "frozen" by the brush of various artists who made the birds the protagonists of their artworks.
